Sustainable development framework law

This framework law sets the fundamental principles, general orientations and means of action of public authorities, businesses and civil society to secure sustainable development in Gabon, focused on the well-being of present and future generations. The State implements a national strategy based on a set of principles: rule of law, quality of life, social equity and solidarity, cost internalisation, responsible production and consumption, participation and access to knowledge, protection of the environment and cultural heritage, participation of women, recognition of traditional knowledge, protection of local communities, biodiversity conservation, precaution, prevention, polluter pays and international cooperation. It underpins sector policies and ecological offset mechanisms.
