Production and exports
Oil output reached 73.3 million barrels in 2021, worth US$5,115.2 million; Rabi Blend accounts for 30.5 percent of volumes. Hydrocarbon exports amounted to 66 million barrels (US$4,594.1 million). In mining, manganese output reached 10,229 thousand tonnes and gold output 1,106.32 kilograms.
Weight in the economy and revenues
According to the report, the extractive sector accounted for 23.0 percent of gross domestic product, 3.86 percent of jobs, 93.5 percent of exports and 46.3 percent of government revenue. Revenues generated by the sector amount to CFAF 812,764.2 million, 90.44 percent from hydrocarbons and 9.56 percent from mining.
