Gabonese Shippers' Council
Overview
The Gabonese Shippers' Council (CGC) is the body attached to the Ministry of Transport, Merchant Navy and Logistics that represents and assists shippers, meaning companies that import or export goods. Its stated missions are shipper assistance, oversight of multimodal freight traffic, cargo traceability, promotion of cleaner transport modes and management of the national freight transport observatory. In practice, importers and exporters deal with it mainly when producing the electronic cargo tracking note (BIETC), an online document required for goods carried by sea or air, with reference to ordinance No. 009/PR/2014 of 20 August 2014. Its head office is in Owendo, opposite the railway station.
