Fisheries and aquaculture code
Summary
This code organises the sustainable management of fishery resources. Its 113 articles, in six titles, cover general provisions, sustainable resource management, protection of aquatic species and ecosystems, monitoring and enforcement, economic and financial provisions and final provisions. It applies to inland fishing, marine fishing, related operations and aquaculture. Fishery resources in waters under Gabonese jurisdiction belong to the State's public domain: subject to customary use rights, exploiting them requires prior authorisation. Implementing orders set, among other things, the rates and basis of fishing and aquaculture fees, duties and taxes.
