Summary
The 2021 labour code governs relations between employers and workers, as well as apprentices and trainees. It has 413 articles in eight titles: general provisions, employment contracts, general working conditions, occupational safety and health, enforcement bodies, professional organisations, labour disputes, and transitional and final provisions. It addresses the ban on forced labour, child protection, working hours, including in agricultural businesses, and trade union organisation. It repeals Ordinance No. 018/PR/2010 of 25 February 2010, which had amended the former code. For investors, it frames recruitment, fixed-term and open-ended contracts, dismissals and safety obligations.
