Summary
Adopted on the same day as the investment charter, this law sets the rules and procedures governing economic competition between operators offering substitutable goods or services. It aims to ensure freedom of prices and trade, prevent anti-competitive practices, guarantee transparency in commercial transactions and consumer protection, regulate economic concentrations and punish obstacles to free competition. It is therefore relevant to any acquisition, distribution agreement or pricing policy in Gabon. It also requires informative labelling in French for perishable foods and pharmaceutical products on sale, stating origin, expiry date, quantity and essential qualities.
