Law on cybersecurity and the fight against cybercrime
Summary
This law governs cybersecurity and the fight against cybercrime in Gabon. It completes the legal foundation of the digital economy, alongside the 2021 electronic transactions law and the 2023 law amending the personal data protection regime. The transition national development plan 2024-2026 provides for adopting its implementing texts and for signing and ratifying the African Union Convention on Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection (Malabo convention), in order to align national rules with international standards. For telecom operators, hosting providers, banks and businesses processing data online, it sets the framework of security obligations and offences. The full text was not consulted for this entry.
