Amendment to the forest code (2023)
Summary
This organic law amends Articles 163, 184, 207, 215, 258 and 275 of the 2001 forest code. It mainly concerns offences and penalties: hunting without a permit, during closed seasons or in prohibited areas, trade in fully protected species, export or import of ivory and crocodile skins, breaches of the rules on transporting live animals, logging without a title or outside permit boundaries, unauthorised transfer of titles, failure to respect forest product classification standards, non-payment of taxes and fees and poor keeping of site logbooks. Penalties are doubled for repeat offences or flight. The text was published in Official Journal No. 234 bis of 8 November 2023.
