Ordinance creating the water and electricity regulator
Summary
This ordinance creates the regulatory agency for the drinking water and electricity sector (ARSEE) and sets its remit, organisation and operation. It was adopted under Law No. 008/2010 of 15 February 2010 on the water and electricity regime, since replaced by Law No. 24/2016, and Law No. 020/2005 on the organisation of State services. It thus sets up an authority separate from the operator to regulate a sector open to delegated public service management. It was ratified by Law No. 026/2010 of 27 July 2010.
