Climate change ordinance
Summary
This ordinance, adopted under a delegation of legislative power, is the national legal framework for tackling climate change. It applies to Gabon's entire land and air space, its internal and territorial waters, its exclusive economic zone, the seabed and subsoil, and its continental, coastal and marine ecosystems. It covers all actions, activities, measures and initiatives that may affect the climate, across every sector of the economy. It excludes international aviation, international shipping and activities covered by defence secrecy. It is directly relevant to forestry, oil, mining and energy companies, in particular for emissions measurement and forest carbon.
