According to Gabonreview, the Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalisation and Innovation, Mark-Alexandre Doumba, presented his department's 2026 budget bill on 19 October 2025 to the National Assembly's Finance, Budget, Public Accounting, Economic Affairs, Production and Development Committee. He is requesting 82 billion CFA francs, against 32 billion in 2024, an increase of more than 150%.
According to the article, the increase is meant to fund three areas: strengthening the digital entrepreneurial ecosystem, deploying digital infrastructure across the whole territory and promoting genuine digital literacy. Digitalising public administration is also among the priorities. The ministry presents the increase as reflecting the government's determination to accelerate the country's digital transformation.
