According to Gabonmediatime, citing the sector business survey published in March 2026, turnover in the construction and public works (BTP) sector reached a record 123.4 billion CFA francs in the fourth quarter of 2025, against 76.2 billion in the third quarter. The sector's activity index rose by 61.8%.

The outlet attributes the increase to strong public procurement, notably for the modernisation of the road network and urban roads. Companies expanded their equipment and workforce, which supported local employment and related activities, particularly among materials suppliers.

Growth has come with pressure on inputs, especially cement, whose output reached 145,284 tonnes over the period without being enough to meet demand. According to Gabonmediatime, sustaining this performance will depend in particular on the regularity of State payments.
