According to Gabonmediatime and Gabonreview, the installation ceremony, held in Pointe-Denis in Estuaire province, coincided with the launch of the province's tourism offering as part of the Tourism Caravan, attended by hoteliers, restaurateurs, transporters, tourism promoters and craftspeople.
According to Gabonreview, the minister presented the Office as an instrument to better coordinate, promote and enhance the national tourism offering. According to Gabonmediatime, she said that developing tourism is a collective responsibility, and that by bringing together public and private stakeholders, conditions are created for a more competitive, attractive and sustainable sector.
The initiative is meant to support economic diversification and job creation by making Gabon more competitive as a destination and stimulating domestic tourism.
