Licensed customs brokers
Overview
This entry refers to the profession of licensed customs broker, not to a specific firm. CEMAC regulation No. 11/10-UEAC-207-CM-21 of 28 October 2010 defines a broker as any natural or legal person whose business is to carry out customs clearance formalities for others. Licensing is subject to conditions, including a bank guarantee and membership of a national professional association. In Gabon most customs declarations are filed by these professionals, who represent the importer or exporter before the Directorate General of Customs and Indirect Duties. Customs publishes on its website the list of licensed brokers and the licensing procedure for the profession. The map position, in central Libreville, is only indicative.
