Overview
The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development implements state agricultural policy, including its stated goal of food sovereignty, for example in poultry farming. Its central administration includes the directorates general of agriculture, livestock and rural development, and one for agricultural education, training and research. It lists among its agencies the Gabonese Food Safety Agency (AGASA), responsible for sanitary and phytosanitary controls, as well as the Gabon Agricultural Development Agency and the Gabonese Development Support Institute. For an agro-industrial investor, the agricultural code, law No. 022/2008 of 10 December 2008, sets out the state's support instruments for the sector.
