Law establishing the national standardisation system

This law sets up the national standardisation framework in Gabon. It is the basis for drafting, adopting and applying national standards and underpins the texts on conformity assessment, entrusted to the Gabonese standards agency (AGANOR). In its 2023 trade policy review of the CEMAC (Central African Economic and Monetary Community) countries, the World Trade Organization lists it among the texts governing technical barriers to trade in Gabon, together with the decree creating AGANOR and the 2015 order on conformity assessment conditions. For businesses, it is the reference for understanding the status of Gabonese standards and the conformity checks applied to products placed on the market, whether imported or made locally.
