IMF Africa department director received by President Oligui Nguema in Libreville

According to Gabonreview, President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema received Abebe Aemro Selassie, director of the Africa Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in audience on Wednesday 5 November 2025, during a working visit to Libreville. The discussion covered the Head of State's priorities: improving living conditions, strengthening governance and promoting transparency in the management of public resources.

Abebe Aemro Selassie is quoted as saying that the IMF team listened to the president's vision for improving people's lives in the coming years, as well as his intentions on governance and transparency. He added that the Fund took note of the requests expressed by the president and will work with the Minister of Planning in this context.
