According to Ecomatin, this working group, called GT-GU, brings together the customs, tax, trade and maritime affairs directorates general, the Gabonese Shippers' Council, the Gabon Ports and Roadsteads Authority (OPRAG), the Business Federation of Gabon (FEG) and the organisations of freight forwarders, carriers and customs brokers.
Its mission is to identify, map and analyse administrative procedures linked to foreign trade, with a view to setting up a paperless system. The stated aim is to eliminate the fragmentation of document flows, which economic operators criticise as a bottleneck weighing on the country's competitiveness.
Ecomatin notes that the approach draws on the Ivorian GUCE.CI model, with technical exchanges having begun in November 2025. No precise completion date was given at the time the article was published.
