Franceville regional customs directorate
Overview
The Franceville regional customs directorate is one of the four field services of the Directorate General of Customs and Indirect Duties (DGDDI). According to the customs map published by the DGDDI, it was created by decree No. 337/PR/MINECOFIN/PART of 22 April 1977 and covers the Haut-Ogooué and Ogooué-Lolo provinces. It supervises the customs offices and posts in its area, where declarations are filed, goods are inspected and duties and taxes are assessed, with collection handled by the Treasury. The 1977 decree called it the Haut-Ogooué regional directorate. Its area, in the south-east of the country, includes the Moanda mining zone, classified as a computerised zone on the customs map, and the Franceville, Lékoni and Bakoumba offices. The map also shows several planned posts along the border with Congo.
